Forchheim beer places for a rainy Sunday evening |

| I took advantage of a Ryanair flight offer (20 UKP return, MAN-NUE) and stayed in Forchheim at the weekend. Unfortunately, most beer outlets are shut in Forchheim on a Sunday evening, including all four of the town's breweries. But I found a couple of unexpected options on Sattlertorstrasse: - Blaue Glocke, had Reh landbier straight from the barrel. - Parkcafe, had the Rittmayer Hallendorf range on draft. Bottles from many Franconian breweries. Also a rotating range of several local craft beers, if you are interested in that stuff. In Nuremberg, I would like to mention a couple of places: - Palais Schaumburg, Kernstr. had Lindenbräu/Gräfenberg on draft. A superb drink. - Balkon, on Königstor as you emerge from the Hbf, had Nikl/Pretzfeld on draft. |
