| While Faessla is far from my favorite beer around there I do like the Schwemme for an occasional visit. It's user friendly. Just go to the window and order your beer. No fuss and no rude waitress to contend with. While across the street you have much better beer but a bunch of uptight @#$%'s. I often feel that Spezial can the most unwelcoming of the Bamberg brewery pubs. But timing also matters. It's okay for me when it's not crowded. I cringe to even open the door during busy hours. Mahrs is getting to be the same way. Although at least you can drink in the Schwemme most of the year. Personally I'll take Greifenklau over the lot for overall experience. Not the best beer but plenty good enough and from my experience more friendly and that goes a long way for me. I've not had a problem with Schlenkerla although again it's much better earlier in the day. Then again it's easy enough to just take a train or bus out to the country and be happy. |
