| Refering to so-called lager in the UK! Just speaking from personal memory, cask beer was in serious trouble in the 1970s. I moved to London for the first time (out of three) in 1969 and stayed until 1974. It was often quite difficult to get cask beer among the lakes of Ind Coope, Watney's, Courage etc keg beer. You really had to worki at it, no casually going into any pub and finding it, unless you lived in a Young's or Fuller's area. Ok, in Manchester, it was a bit different because you had lots of small breweries but, even there, keg was making big inroads. Yes, frantically packing. Date for selling our house in west of Ireland is January 18 2017 and we hope that we close on the house in Colwyn Bay at about the same time. Concur with remarks about packing and moving, specially as J. has a bad back. Not good. |
