| Yes, Stockport (4 miles from my homeplace) was always good - and still is! People deride Robbies but not in the company of my spouse - it's her favourite beer, though, personally, I don't think it's as good as it was. Holt's, OTOH, is timeless! I've actually had a tour of the S & N brewery in Newcastle. We drank cask versions of all sorts of their beers, including, at the time, Theakstons Bitter. It's hard to believe but they were all excellent- like I've always said, anyone can brew good beer, if they want to! |
