| We don't like Glühwein much any more, too sweet & spiced. But there is a stand selling "quality vintner's" Glühwein at this one, white & red, which is much less sweet, quite enjoyable. Not as much as the beer though. And of course, the blessed one in Forchheim has not only Lindemann's (?) Glühkriek from Belgium (!), but also Hebendanz. And the Christkind activity every night at 18.30 or whenever, the world's "loveliest Advent calendar." The small "mediaeval" Xmas market in Erlangen also has beer, but I forget which one. And they have wood-burning fire stands to crowd around to keep warm. You might like either of these three. Or at least not absolutely hate them. There's a third one in Erlangen this year too, which we hear also has beer of unknown origin, though its proximity to Steinbach makes me fear it could be their murky, bland mess of a blonde. |
