Ridiculously expensive Kellerbier

The pub Brian is talking about in the OP is this one and as you can see from the list all of the beers there are expensive.

It's a specialty beer bar in Boston and has you can has a few Franconian options on draft all for over $9.  The pricing there is not unusual for Boston.  I reckon a pint of Guinness in the city center is going to run around $7-8.  It's just the way it is.  Not a place to go out drinking if you live on a budget.  The best places to go drinking in the Boston area are the brewery tap rooms on the outskirts of the city (Somerville, Everett, etc.) where the price of a pint isn't as costly.

i find the only way to get reasonably priced Franconian style beers here is to homebrew them yourself.  I do this occasionally (those on my FB feed know I served up a bock this weekend at my home that I brewed in May).  I know Brian does this as well.  It helps tie me over until I can get over there again.
