"Cut non native English speakers some slack"? I would caution that I do live and work in a foreign country - I am more than familiar with non native English speakers and giving the requisite 'slack'. I'm also not sure about the term 'bragging', I got what was meant, I just think numbers are irrelevant. As i wrote. It's not about 'knowing' German beers, it's about different perspectives. Knowledge can't be measured in numbers, and I assume most people on here are well informed. Still, I've met many people who have tried more beers than is healthy and they still talk tosh.

Wagner in Oberhaid is a bad example - it's one of the only beers I've poured away here. I'm not talking about bad beer, I'm talking about ok beer. Average beer. You might ask why I would go to the Keller at all when I live around the corner from the brewery. Because the beer isn't the lure.

The dynamic I touched upon, it was pretty much the essence of what I was saying. I was a visitor for 10 years, so I know the difference.

Finally I don't have an opinion because I follow other people's - if you have the same opinion as Mads and you feel others do too I'm not going to lose sleep over it. It's not a debating society, I just want to express my opinion. There isn't anything personal and frankly if offense is taken perhaps Internet forums aren't the place to be.
