Ot: end of old English family breweries

Timothy Taylor is less than average and the dark mild is their light mild with caramel added so kind of says it all - how they won CBOB with Boltmakers I have no idea but then I have rerely agreed with the winners and often been quite flabbergasted.

Speaking of flabbergasting! Do you mean the Golden Best as their "light mild"? The dark mild does have some nice, roasty, fruity character that's quite different to the rather bland GB. Not sure how you can't like Boltmaker's if you like other traditional 4% bitter.

Of course there has been talk of the microbrewery balloon bursting for some time now, and it's quite possible there will be a culling of ones that simply can't continue operating at such
low profit margins.
