| The building was builded 1330 as a hospital and new builded since 1754 as a prison. The state Bavaria plan a new prison in the east of Bamberg with a bigger capacity. The city has different ideas for the old prison building. Maybe the owner (state Bavaria) will use it as a part of the University (p.e. a guest house). An other idea is a commercial hotel. The neighbors fear in both cases the (car) traffic. |
