Well a cave is a naturally occurring phenomenon and a cellar man made, designed to store things at constant low temperatures, like wine, beer or foodstuffs. So actually a cellar is exactly what it would translate to, although it doesn't quite sum up the wider, more romantic connotations of the Franconian Bierkeller.
