This should be 'not allowed to use before 9 a.m.' (Gültig Mo. bis Fr. ab 9 Uhr, Sa., So. und feiertags ab 0 Uhr.).

Just a typing error on a very succinct explanation of the Bayern-Ticket.  I would just add that it's really easy to buy from the ticket machines.  There is an Enlish-language version of the procedure that's really easy to follow.  Only one point, if you do the day (or days before), make sure that you put in the correct date on which you want to travel!  You can fill in your name and those people with you before you get on the train (which is the correct way!) but I've often forgotten to do this - the conductor simply gives you his/her pen and gets you to fill on the spot.

Oh yes, it's also possible to buy online - comes under 'Special Offers'.  You have to make sure that you have the debit or credit card that you used for the purchase with you when you travel, as that's the means that us used for identification.
