Hello folks.  I'll be in Rome from March 21-26 for the inaugural FrankenBierFest, where my photographs will be on exhibit during the festival and a new book released authored by Manuele Colonna of Ma Che Siete Venuti A Fa’, also featuring my photos.  I depart Rome on March 26 to spend the next 10 days in Franconia once again to further work on a photography book of my own.

Our beloved beers Franconian moving in the magnificent setting of La Limonaia di Villa Torlonia for a weekend of total immersion in the German brewing tradition of this region unique.

Upper Franconia has the distinction of the area with the highest density of breweries in the area, many of them family-owned, handed down for centuries, with a limited production often destined exclusively to the inhabitants of these small and picturesque villages.

Over twenty small producers will be represented by their Kellerbier, Rauchbier, Vollbier, until you get to small trials faced by new generations of brewers Franconia, in a journey that will unfold from Bamberg to the most remote villages.

Meetings with the Brewers, industry experts, stories, tastings and a photo exhibition organized in collaboration with Michael James Beertravl.com site, will try to give you as much as possible the excitement of a trip to Franconia.

The festival will start at 18:30 on Friday 20th March with the traditional opening of the first barrel, Saturday from 12 to 02 and Sundays from 12 to midnight.
