Eating Habits, Ungespundetes...

Presume the Huppendorfer is the bottled Vollbier? If so, tried a bottle and didn't think that it was as nice as that from the brauerei in Huppendorf. Also the Mahr's U. I recounted a story of a few years ago when they gave us this in Mahr's instead of the anstich U - differences? About €2 in cost and a much inferior taste (IMHO!). Had a bottled beer from an independent in Norway a couple of years ago - remarked at the time that it was the dearest bottle of beer ever bought at just under €10 - nice but not that nice! Ditto re eating huge plates of food - still can't work out how my Seattle chums of September (including close friends!) managed to stack away such huge amounts of booze and grub! I'll stick to the brozeit. Camra and rural Ireland? Hard to think of ways of fitting those words in one sentence! I don't know what effect Camra has had on Irish beer drinking as a whole. There are now quite a number of microbreweries and 'crafted beer' (surely just a convenient marketing tag?) seems to be being plugged quite hard. But it seems a world away from my beer drinking experiences. Still, I hope that it's not just a passing fad.
