Dresden

Dresden is definitely worth the extra day. On http://kursbuch.bahn.de/hafas/kbview.exe you can find the timetables, put in Dresden and Leipzig at "Bahnhof / Halt" and "Weiterer Bahnhof / Halt". New timetables are not yet available, but will be at some point in november. Generally, trains on january 1st will run as on a sunday/holiday.
