Did indeed manage to find the Biergarten up above the Friedmann Brauerei yesterday, after having to ask in the Friedmann Bräustüberl. After the steep climb up the steps http://i51.tinypic.com/2iik22t.jpg the menu revealed, unfortunately, "Pils vom Fass". But then it came in a Glasskrug http://i56.tinypic.com/11r9nyr.jpg rather than in a Pils glass and was decidedly maltier than a Pils ought to be. But okay, a clean, malty, stylistically incorrect "Pils" went down really well in the weather and with the panorama view http://i56.tinypic.com/ww1012.jpg (sorry, only had my Handykamera with me, not a proper camera). Another serving wench told the table behind us that the "Pils" listed on the menu is actually a "Festbier". Ach so! The gal that served us then insisted that Pils and Festbier are the same thing...whatever. It was a very fine light-bodied, pale Festbier, 3 shared Seidlas were just the thing for a warm, dry, sunny Samstagnachmittag. 49 km on- and off-road bike route here: http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=1250234 .
