Cerevisiae Mancuniumis

Slightly wrong side of town for me but one my (many) local pubs was a Hyde's - not surpringly, named 'The Anvil' - but now knocked, as they say here. The Horse and Farrier in nearby Gatley was also a favourite Hyde's pub - still is when I'm staying at my sister-in-laws because it's next to my favourite Indian takeaway and so handy for a couple of pints whilst waiting (I refuse the delviery service on purpose). Again, surprised at your lack of enthusiasm for this honourable survivor. Hyde's is one of Manchester's oldest breweries and it's ales are fairly light and hoppy. They brew (still do, I hope) a light mild that is excellent.
