Bamberg to Leipzig? |

| Not so much for Jimbo, but if somebody should using a day on a railpass for a day trip to Leipzig: Get off the ICE in Jena, grab a taxi to the Talschänke in Wöllnitz for their wonderful sour wheat beer and then have them call you a taxi back to the Jena station. You've got two hours before the next train and it's worth the effort. I don't know if stop overs like this are allowed on a regular ticket. I would guess not, but I'll let the experts chime in. As a day trip you pretty much have to use the ICE or it just takes too long. The non-Gose beers in Leipzig were fairly disappointing. But then again we were coming from Bamberg so the bar was set pretty high. |
