I realize that the bus system is not designed for non-Germany-speaking tourists, but I agree that it is amazingly over-complicated. That is why I usually buy the easiest ticket I can, even it means a few extra Euros in cost. I can't help but think that even some Germans must be put off by this crazy system of zones and mystery dorfs (dörfe).
