Anything near Munich?

Hey Everydody, I'm heading for a family trip to Munich in a couple days, and I've already worked in a swing through Bamberg and a few places outside of there...but it sounds like the rest of the folks are planning on visiting churches and musuems in Munich for multiple days, and I know I'm not too interested in that. Is there anything worth a quick day visit that is accessible by train from Munich? Munich seems kind of boring to me. Looks like maybe Nuremberg has a few places, but if there is some gem anywhere around there, I would be forever grateful if you would clue me in! Thanks. Cheers matt
