A quintessential Franconian lager

I wouldn't say Mönchsambacher's Lagerbier is the epitome of what I've had either, but I thought it was a superb example of typical Franconian unfiltered goodness. Which isn't quite the case with the St.Georgenbräu Kellerbier I'm drinking right now, which is a shadow of the tap version I had at Eulenspiegel last May. Its body is just not the same in the bottle. But it's still a pleasant pint of lager. The Mönchsambacher bottle was pretty much the same as the tap version I had at the wonderful Café Abseits.
