Couple more questions - Bamberg and Munich

JezzaP: 1) We'll be in Bamberg not only on my birthday but also the day before, 1 May, which is a public holiday. Does everything shut in Bamberg on a public holiday or will we still be able to find a beer?:) - already answered by others: don't worry. 2) We'll have half a day and one night in Munich. There are presumably at least one or two decent beer places in the city: which ones would people here recommend? - (from long ago) probably Augustiner, and the Schneider Stammhaus (Tal 10. off Marienplatz). For other places possibly worth a visit, you might try Paulaner Brauhaus (actually a brewpub) at Kapuzinerstrasse. In the suburbs: Isarbrau in Pullach (http://www.hb-ts.de/page-haus/isarbrau.html) set up by Hofbrauhaus Traunstein - when I was there they had a very tasty wheat beer. 3) If you had a birthday in Bamberg, and it was on a Tuesday, what activities/beery things would you save for that particular day? - Definitely Spezial and/or Mahr (but do not restrict a visit to that time only - it's worth coming back to often). (Depending on the weather) probably Mahr's Keller (Stephansberg) as well.
