Sesslach

If that was to me, John, correction not meant seriously.  I can't remember how many Geman place names I've spelled incorrectly. Only one stube was open when we visited Sesslach - the one on the opposite side of the square to the brauerei.  Juergen said it was the best and the beer was excellent.  After, we had one of those frustrating Franken Urlaub days, including Scharp, Freudeneck and Hoefen.  Fortunately, Schwanen at Ebing was open.  IMHO. this is one of the best places in the area: lovely pub, very friendly people and (must disagree with Mark here) a superb Dunkles, of the sort more common a few kms away in Franken Schweiz.

On staying in Sesslach: I think that it is a bit different to Eschawo.  We started staying here for longer periods (this year, it's 9 weeks!) because we wanted to be able to try all the different stub'n - remember that there are 12 between the 2 villages - and the rotating pattern of opening means that you have to be here for a month to make this possible.  After a year or 2, we developed some strong personal ties.  In addition, it is an attractive little town, with good walking and a superb (& very cheap) Freibad.  Our personal circumstances are such that we can be away for longer periods and we have come to regard Eschawo as a sort of home away from home.  How long this will last is hard to say and some of the party hankering a little after change!
