OT: Android tablets

I know that most of you out there will have much more knowledge of these things, so please indulge me.  I've asked this before but life moves on.  My Asus netbook has given me great service for 3 or 4 years but I feel it is time to move on, especially asit weights nearly a kilo and a half with its charger - may not seem much but is a reasonable big chunk of our 10 k baggage allowance.  Also, I suspect that it quite easily outperformed by new generation tablets.

My quandry is simple: essentially, I only use these devices for our hols in Germany - there are 3 decent PCs for home use - so I am loathe to expend more than I have to!  On Ebay, it is now possible to buy budget tablets for much less than £100.  For example, look at (if you have time) this one (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/32GB-10-1-Inch-WiFi-Quad-Core-Allwinner-Android-4-4-KITKAT-WIFI-Tablet-PC-HDMI-/221288663772?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3385d50adc#shpCntId) as an example.  My needs are very simple: emails and a bit of web surfing and streaming, playing a bit of music, not much else really.  Oh yes, maybe a bit of typing, if I feel suitably inspired.  Otherwise, not much.

Going up the ladder a bit, the Tesco (for UK forummers) Hlud 2 has a good write up but costs a little bit more.

Does anyone have any experience of these lower end devices and could advise?
